Your Property Partner - Michael Krain
After spending 6 years with Townsview Estates (Anglo American Properties) in property management, Michael began his career in the residential property industry. In 1975, he joined Schachat Cullum (Pty) Ltd, arguably South Africa’s largest home building company from the 1960s to the late 1990s.
As a wholly owned subsidiary of the Sage Group of companies, Schachat Cullum provided Michael with diverse opportunities. Starting as a branch accountant, he rose through the ranks to become Managing Director in the mid-1980s. Over his 23 years with the company, Michael managed all aspects of home building, residential property development, and sales.
In 1998, Michael was appointed an Executive Director of Sage Properties (Pty) Ltd. Beyond residential property development, he oversaw the CBD Property Fund, a listed property trust, and managed the broader Sage Group property portfolio.
After 27 years in the corporate world, Michael transitioned in 2002 to become Managing Director of Wray Harris (Pty) Ltd. The company focused on constructing architect-designed, custom homes ranging from 400m² to 1600m². Under Michael’s leadership, it also developed cluster house complexes, primarily in Bryanston and Sandown.
In July 2009, Michael launched his own venture, Arch Construction and Real Estate CC. This business offers comprehensive services in property development, marketing, management, and sales—positioning Arch as your intellectual capital in property.
In addition to Arch Construction and Real Estate, Michael is a Director and shareholder of John Livanos Estates (Pty) Ltd, an established estate agency.
